In a world where we are constantly looking at and interacting with our devices, quality design is just as important as the technology running behind the scenes. Design has so many different aspects that must be considered for any project: colors, shape, size, usability, user preferences, balance, lines, white space, texture, just to name a few.
To help keep their skills sharp and up-to-date, our designers at 729 Solutions are constantly reading, watching, and learning from a variety of design focused blogs.
Here are a few of their favorites:
- Form Fifty Five is a one-stop-shop for the design industry, including galleries of showcase design pieces, industry news and updates, and thoughtful articles and videos focusing on specific design features. For fun they also include articles in their “want” category, which h might be helpful if you’re looking for the perfect gift for the designer on your list.
- Misador curates and shares inspirational images from around the world. Their selected images aren’t restricted to “traditional” inspiration, but rather work from the idea that inspiration is personal and can be found anywhere. Have your own image that you think might inspire others? You can easily submit it via email for their consideration.
- Adobe has long been a stalwart of the design community, and their creativity blog demonstrates their commitment to the field. They cover everything from Adobe design product updates, to UX best practices, and instructive lessons from creative professionals. They also curate a new themed and inspirational collection once a quarter, focusing on new trends and experiential design.
- Abduzeedo was originally created as a personal blog by designer Fabio Sasso but has since grown into a unique digital publication with submissions from around the world. Their articles cover topics from art direction and branding to typography, illustration and photography. As an added organization bonus you can view their articles by collection across more than 30 different categories.
